Indications:
Blood failure manifested by dizziness, palpitations, insomnia, irregular menstruation, uterine bleeding.
For Yin Deficiency with weak and aching lower back and knees, tinnitus, dizziness, vertigo, hearing loss, night sweats, tidal fever, 5 palm heat, nocturnal emissions.
Diabetes.
In children, Shu Di Huang can be used to treat developmental and growth disorders.
Used when symptoms of cough, asthma, shortness of breath, and wheezing are due to Kidney Deficiency and it's inability to grasp the Qi.
Comparisons:
He Shou Wu strengthens the Kidneys and nourishes Blood (not greasy).Nu Zhen Zi is less effective to tonify Yin, but is not oily.
Warning:
Contraindications: Epigastric and abdominal pain and bloating.Stagnant Qi with copious Phlegm.Pasty stools and loss of appetite.
