Preparation:
DECOCTION: 25 g/litre.
The source text advises to first decoct Ma Huang. The froth is removed, the other ingredients are added until 25 cl remain.
Administration/Recommended dosage:
DECOCTION: Take one cup (the patient should be bundle up to help induce sweating). If the first cup is successful, do not administer a second cup. If there is a little sweating, repeat once or twice, progressively reducing the interval between doses. If no result, pursue medication for 24 hours (1 cup/3 hours).
Contraindications:
Bleeding (especially from the nose)
Qi deficiency, exhaustion
Spontaneous sweating
Copious urination
Hypertension
