Why 6 years old?
At this age, the ginseng roots contain maximum concentrations of saponins, chemical compounds responsible for the tonifying effects of ginseng, especially on Qi, circulation, and memory stimulation.
These roots are considered the most effective for treating Qi deficiency, exhaustion, and neurological disorders.

Description: Ginseng root. The cultivated ginseng is called Yuan Shen.

Properties:
Nature: Warm.
Taste: Sweet, slightly bitter.
Tropism: Spleen, Lung, Heart.
Toxicity: Non-toxic.

Actions:
Strongly tonifies the Original Qi.
Tonifies the Spleen.
Tonifies the Lung.
Promotes the creation of Organic Fluids.

Recommended dosage:
3 to 9gr per day.

Comparisons:
HUANG QI - Radix Astragali raises Yang while tonifying Qi (Qi deficiency with spontaneous sweating).
XI YANG SHEN - Radix Panacis Quinque Folii is less effective at tonifying Qi but excellent at promoting the creation of Organic Fluids.

Contraindications:
Normal Qi, not deficient.
Fullness or Heat.
Warning: Should never be taken with tea.
