Gua Sha is a very common technique in TCM which allows you to scrape the skin with the massage tool called Gua Sha, to improve the circulation of Blood Qi and body fluids. Scratching also allows, in the event of an attack from the Biao, wind/cold or wind/heat, to bring the pervert to the surface.
