Black sesame seed flour is an exquisite product for its unique and indescribable flavor and aroma that makes it ideal for a wide variety of recipes. It can be used iun smoothies and desserts, cookies, breads, cakes and in pastry in general. It is healthy product and provides fiber, phytosterols, Omega6, minerals (calcium, iron, magnesium), vitamins (B and E) and antioxidants, among others. In addition, according to the Chinese Medicine, it is a great substance to tonify Kidneys and in especial, the Jing, Kidney essence.

HEI ZI MA - Semen Sesami Indici - 200g
Actions:
-Strengthens the Kidney: the spine, bone marrow and bones and reduces joint stiffness.
-Strongly strengthens the Jing, the essence of the Kidney.
-Hydrates the intestines and helps to maintain good digestive health and regulates appetite.

Instructions of use:
Add 1 tablespoon a day to your breakfast such as: porridges, smoothies, mix with yogurt or kefir or use it in cake recipes. Here is an idea as a recipe for a sponge cake to be made with our black sesame flour.
Precautions and contraindications:
Diarrhea, loose stools and or very soft stools, pronounced Spleen Qi deficiency.
Conserve in a cool and dry place.


Black sesame sponge cake
Ingredients:
-55g - black sesame flour
-120g - sugar
-8 eggs
-A pinch of salt
-125 ml - vegetable drink
-75 ml - olive oil or any other neutral oil
-2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
-100g - any normal flour
-¾ teaspoons of baking powder
Preparation
-Preheat the owen to 160°C or 325 °F.
-Separate the eggs and set aside the whites.
-Then whisk together the egg yolks, salt, vegetable drink, oil, and vanilla until blended.
-In another bowl sift together the normal flour, baking powder, and sesame powder.
-Add the sifted flour mixture to the egg yolk mixture, whisking until well combined. Set aside while you prepare the meringue.
-Whisk the egg whites with the sugar in a separate bowl to prepare the meringue.
- Mix 1/3 of meringue with the yolk batter using a hand whisk and then add the rest of the meringue.
-Pour batter into prepared pan and tap the pan very lightly to remove air bubbles. Smooth the top if needed.
-Bake the sponge at the middle of the owen rack and put another baking dish with water at the bottom of the owen. Bake the cake 50-60 minutes and then remove the dish with water at the bottom and bake for another 10 minutes more.
-Remove the cake from the owen and let it cool for 5-10 minutes.
-You can eat the cake as it is or you can make a frosting or glaze on top of it.
